Danger of a Smoking Habit

You are probably already aware that smoking carries a lot of health risks but the extent of the risks that smoking can cause to an individual is not yet known. One interesting fact is that 50% of people who smoke end up dying. Smoking also shortens one's lifespan about 12 years and the fact is that the younger an individual started smoking the more risk he has. But through all the health risks and complications that are bought about by smoking, there is still hope that a person can live a healthy life if one stops smoking immediately. Even people who survive smoking can deal with a variety of problems such as sexual complications like erectile dysfunction in men and earlier menopause in women. Smoking can also worsen diseases such as chest infections, asthma, hyperthyroidism, tuberculosis, and muscle sclerosis among others. It can even make the common cold and flu become a complicated disease and this makes life harder to any individual.
