Just about 80% of the smoke gets into the lungs. The rest is just burned out.
2. Also, from the smoke you inspire, just 0,02% remains actually in the lungs. The rest is expired (with all toxic stuff from it).
3. In the remaining, not all of it deposits on the lungs. Just a very small percent.
So in reality, things like take a very long period of time to happen (40 or more years of intense smoking)…
