Ways to Quit Smoking

There are many ways for you to quit smoking. First of all realize that what you intend to do is going to be hard. It will take time and it won’t be fun at all. However, this is your opportunity to make a difference in your life, a difference that will make you feel better about yourself – on the inside and the outside.

If you want to quit smoking then you need to get advice from the right people, the individuals that know what works and what doesn’t work. Of course, you must consult a medical professional for help first, but you can also ask someone who has been successful at quitting smoking. Ask them why they wanted to quit smoking. Ask what were the most difficult times for them, and those around them, in the process of quitting smoking.

Join a community of people that have quit smoking or are attempting to quit smoking. It is good to be a part of an old fashioned support group and meet people that are dealing with the same problems, face to face. You can get help from ordinary people that are not looking to earn a cent from your success or failure. Also make sure you are getting all the help you can from your family and friends.

Make a time and a date that you will quit smoking for good without any relapses. Look forward to this date and be positive. When that date comes you need to get rid of everything in your home that has to do with smoking, not just the cigarettes. Also, do not let your friends and family smoke in front of you. Drink plenty of fluids and enjoy things that you could not enjoy before when you were smoking. The most important thing to remember is that in the first weeks and months of quitting you need to make yourself feel special in some way.

Whenever you get the urge to smoke, try chewing a piece of gum instead. If you want to quit, you will.

Really, the best advice is to go see a doctor. Being addicted to marijuana isn’t good for you; it’s great you want to quit your addiction. But it’s probably about ten times harder than quitting smoking. So you really need a physician’s advice on this.

After visiting the doctor, try to find a hobby that makes you happy. With all the money you’d usually spend on marijuana, spend it on something like playing sports, listening to music, or even becoming a computer nerd and playing runescape; anything that won’t hurt you as much as smoking will.

With that said, the only real way to completely get off marijuana for the rest of your life is with willpower and with something else to focus on. It will make your life better and let you keep more of your own money.

How about some twelve step? M.A. has one of the higher success rates of any treatment program, though to be honest marijuana is one of the harder drugs to get people off of. It’s also really common, especially with people who are smoking as much as you’re describing to get incredibly depressed when they try to stop. It also starts to creep up when the drug stops working as well, and they’re still taking it, which is kind of the vibe I"m getting here. For that depression, medical/psychological support is usually needed, as it can be quite severe.

Do not use substitutes like gum, chocolate or some sort of rehab” program, because in that case you’ll be feeling like victim doing contribution(that’s sad) and it will be difficult, so after some time you’ll be smoking again. Don’t blow the whole of this matter. You don’t have to go to see the doctors for such thing. Understand that there is nothing to “quit”. Simply don’t smoke and be happy about it.

Hope that helps a bit cheers
